A friend and I spent the early hours digging a 1930 era dump over near London and it was a brilliant experience. A lot of stuff found this time but not enough time spent there as we had to get back.

SAEME is the company behind Evian (I had no idea). It stands for Societe Anonyme Des Eaux Minerales D’Evian

Woop my first Bovril jar! In my small hole I created a little overhang (not like the ones warned in the books) about a foot tall and was able to rake the underneath of the hole edge with the spade and this jar just fell out. I’ve finally got one and can join the ranks of “real” bottle diggers now.
I haven’t taken lots of photos of the bottle cleaned up but I will be doing soon.
